A New Training Course for
Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation
Exercise Leaders
Jointly with The Robert Gordon University and the British Association for Cardiac Rehabilitation
Enquires are invited from persons who are interested in advancing their qualifications and experience to enable them to design and lead Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Groups which are run by Grampian cardiac Rehabilitation association, either directly or in partnership with other providers.
The training course will be held in The School of Health Sciences of the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and it will lead to a Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Leader qualification awarded by the British Association of cardiac Rehabilitation (BACR) and the Robert Gordon University.
NHS Grampian have agreed that such a training course will be recognised by NHS Grampian for Phase III and GP-based referrals to the Phase IV CR Exercise programmes.
Candidates will normally require to have a recognised exercise qualification to a minimum standard of SVQ 2 and should be able to demonstrate active involvement or experience in leading exercise groups over a period of 18 to 24 months within the past few years. the new training course will be run in Aberdeen between late August and mid-November 2005 and it will be run on a part-time basis over 5 week-ends.
Candidates should preferably, but not exclusively, be resident in the rural areas of Aberdeenshire.
Up to 12 candidates selected for admission to, and successfully completing the training course will have their course fees paid by GCRA. On qualification, those sponsored by GCRA will be required to undertake PHASE IV CR Exercise leadership duties in association with GCRA.
