Fourth GCRA Forum

On Tuesday 25th October GCRA, in association with RGU, ran its fourth Forum on Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation, the theme of which was ‘Medication, Diet and Exercise’. The event, which was held in the large lecture theatre of the School of Health Sciences at the Garthdee campus was a ‘sell out’ with an attendance of close to 120.

The Guest Speakers for the evening were:

  • Prof. Mark Noble of Aberdeen University, speaking on ‘Medication in the treatment of Cardiac problems’.
  • Gail McKay a Senior Dietician ARI, speaking on ‘Aspects of diet in improvement of Cardiac issues’.
  • Brenda Anderson, Manager and Co-ordinator of NHS Grampian Phase III Programmes, Westburn Centre, speaking on ‘Aspects of Exercise in on-going Cardiac Rehabilitation’.

The Question and Answer session held after each speaker’s presentation prompted some lively and interesting discussion.

All delegates attending the Forum were asked to complete an Evaluation Form an analysis of which indicated a 100%satisfaction level in meeting the expectations of the delegates. In addition to this a number of interesting and valuable suggestions were received for consideration for future Forum discussion topics.
