Admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on 4th August 2000 after suffering a heart attack. Released from Hospital 11th August after undergoing Angioplasty and placing of 3 stents. Participated in Phase 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, October 2000. Joined Phase 4 Exercise Group in the community in January 2001. Currently participates in three exercise classes a week and walks 4.5 miles two to three times a week. October 2003 began to suffer from Intermittent Claudication. Now finding that increased levels of exercise definitely help relieve the problem, making it more bearable. |

Educated at St Peters Secondary School 1946-1956.
School Dux 1956.
Trained as Ship Draughtsman (Naval Architecture) in Aberdeen 1957-1962.
Complete change of direction late 1962 and started new career in Sales and Marketing of Frozen Foods.
Achieved various management promotions, ending up with a senior marketing position within the Frozen Fish Industry in 1975.
Founded his own company in 1979 manufacturing Frozen Value added Fish products. Developed and served markets throughout the UK, Ireland and Canada. Received an Industry Award for “Product Of The Year” from The British Frozen Food federation in June 1994. Sold his company to a major Food Group in 1998.
Retired from full time work in May 2000 and took up part time Consultancy work in Export Food Marketing.
Fully retired from industry since September 2004.
Is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing
Enjoys watching sport, viewing his video collection of John Wayne Westerns, having lots of fun with his grandchildren ( playing at cowboys and Indians I’ll bet ) and sipping on a glass or two of red wine after they have filled him full of lead. Let’s be honest, scalping him is not really a viable option is it !
