'Astonishing 125% Growth’
in Phase IV Cardiac Rehab Exercise Classes in Grampian

GCRA is facing problems which many large commercial companies would welcome i.e, RAPID GROWTH!

In summer of 2004 GCRA were operating 8 classes and had a membership of around 180. This has now swelled to 21 classes and a membership roll of 410. The forward plan, as contained within our Big Lottery Fund strategy, is to have at least 30 classes up and running by the end of 2006 with an anticipated membership in excess of 500. Many rural areas and small communities are still many miles from the nearest Phase IV Classes and it is GCRA’s objective to address the problem and establish classes in areas of principal need.

Much of this current success is due to the dedication and professionalism of our established team of Phase IV BACR-qualified leaders, ie. Susie Crane, Wendy Gray, Ann Mitchell, Kay Robb, Pamela Smith and Laura Walker together with the enthusiasm and support shown by the membership at large. In addition to this the success of the 4 new NHS rural Phase III Centres is making a positive contribution to our membership with a steady stream of referrals to our network of classes. This pool of referrals is also being added to by our direct entry GP Referral protocol.
